One of the UK’s Richest and 7th Duke of Westminster, Hugh Grosvenor Marries Olivia Henson

Hugh Grosvenor, the seventh Duke of Westminster, will marry Olivia Henson on June 7 at Chester Cathedral. Grosvenor, now 33, became the Duke of Westminster and inherited an extensive property portfolio at the age of 25 after the sudden death of his father, Gerald Cavendish Grosvenor, in 2016. This portfolio includes properties in prestigious locations like Mayfair, London, and Tokyo. Currently, Grosvenor’s net worth is estimated at approximately $12.6 billion.

Despite his immense wealth and royal connections—he is King Charles’ godson and godfather to Prince George, son of Prince William and Kate Middleton—Grosvenor leads a relatively low-profile life. He manages his family’s estates, engages in charitable activities, and competes in skeet-shooting competitions.

The Grosvenor family lineage dates back almost 1,000 years, with their fortune largely stemming from a 17th-century dowry that included 200 hectares of land near London. The first Duke of Westminster, Hugh Lupus Grosvenor, a friend of Queen Victoria, was honored with the title in 1874 by Prime Minister William Gladstone. The family’s ancestral home is Eaton Hall in Cheshire.

Hugh Grosvenor was born in 1991 to Gerald Grosvenor and Natalia Grosvenor. Natalia descends from Russian poet Alexander Pushkin and King George II. Although Hugh has two older sisters, he inherited the title and family estates due to the tradition of primogeniture.

Grosvenor’s upbringing aimed for normalcy despite the family’s wealth. He attended a local state primary school and later Ellesmere College in Shropshire for secondary education. His father emphasized the importance of contributing back to society despite their privileged status. Grosvenor later attended Newcastle University and maintained a low profile until his lavish 21st birthday party in 2012, which reportedly cost $6.3 million and featured notable guests, including Prince Harry.

Hugh Grosvenor announced his engagement to Olivia Henson in April 2023. Henson, 31, is a senior account manager at ethical food firm Belazu. The couple met through friends two years prior to their engagement.
