Weird Fish Names David Butler as its New CEO
David Butler has been officially appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the UK-based clothing brand Weird Fish.
Sally Bailey, the Chairwoman of Weird Fish, extended a warm welcome to Butler, noting, “He has significant retail experience both in the UK and overseas and a proven track record in developing clothing businesses. I look forward to him leading the brand to further success.”
Weird Fish emphasized Butler’s wealth of experience in multi-channel retail, citing his most recent role as CEO of Crew Clothing, where he led for seven years. During his tenure at Crew Clothing, he notably doubled the turnover and expanded the store network by nearly 30%, achieving a milestone of 100 stores.
Moreover, Butler was instrumental in bolstering the retailer’s online presence and fostering partnerships with renowned British sports institutions such as Williams Racing, Henley Royal Regatta, and LTA Tennis for Britain.
Prior to his time at Crew Clothing, Butler served as the Managing Director of Europe at Ecco, where he devised the retailer’s strategy and significantly grew its presence across the continent, expanding Ecco’s estate to over 300 outlets.
