Tony Gonnella Joins Hitachi Vantara as CFO
Tony Gonnella has joined Hitachi Vantara, the data storage, infrastructure, and hybrid cloud management subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (TSE: 6501), as the new Chief Financial Officer with immediate effect. Gonnella will report directly to Sheila Rohra, Hitachi Vantara’s Chief Executive Officer, and will serve on the company’s executive committee.
Gonnella succeeds the former CFO, Inigo Mazquiaran, who recently transitioned within the Hitachi Group to assume the role of CFO in the newly formed Hitachi Digital Services organization.
Expressing his outlook on joining Hitachi Vantara, Gonnella remarked, “Hitachi Vantara is well-positioned in the industry, with an extensive roster of clients across multiple industries and a strong portfolio of best-in-class data storage and hybrid cloud infrastructure solutions. Rohra expressed confidence in Gonnella’s ability, stating, “Tony brings a strong track record of partnering closely with business leaders in the technology industry to help them drive growth. Bringing over 20 years of experience as a finance executive, Gonnella has expertise in financial planning, management reporting, corporate budgeting, financial analysis, high-growth and high-profit P&L management, financial transformation, and system and process implementation. Most recently, he served as the CFO for Cortex and Unit 42 at Palo Alto Networks, where he was responsible for steering the financial strategy for the fast-growing Cortex software-as-a-service (SaaS) product suite for security operations and the Unit 42 threat intelligence, incident response, and cyber risk services business units. Before Palo Alto Networks, Gonnella held leadership roles at NetApp, NetScout Systems, Network General, and McAfee Associates. He earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Santa Clara University.
