Francis Kint Takes the Helm at Greenyard

Greenyard has recently announced the appointment of Francis Kint as the incoming Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2024, by its board of directors. Kint, currently serving as the Managing Director of Greenyard’s frozen division, will take over from the co-CEOs Hein Deprez and Marc Zwaaneveld.

Zwaaneveld will continue to offer advisory support to ensure a seamless transition, while Deprez will concentrate on his role as an executive director of the board, maintaining his position as the founder and overseeing the strategic vision and direction of Greenyard.

Upon assuming the role of CEO on January 1, 2024, Kint will assume responsibility for the daily management and operational leadership of the organization. He will lead the group’s executive management in collaboration with the Chief Financial Officer, Nicolas De Clercq.

Koen Hoffman, Chairman of the Board of Directors, expressed, “Based on the recommendations of Greenyard’s nomination and remuneration committee, under the chair of Aalt Dijkhuizen, the Board of Directors decided that Francis Kint is the best candidate for the position of Group CEO. He held leadership positions in both the fresh and long fresh segments, built expertise across the group, holds a deep understanding of the fruit and vegetable industry, and gained valuable knowledge in both the food service and retail channels during his career. Kint is the right man at the right place to accelerate the implementation of the strategic direction and to realize the full potential of Greenyard. We look forward to a fruitful collaboration.”

Hoffman also expressed gratitude on behalf of the Board of Directors to the outgoing co-CEOs Hein Deprez and Marc Zwaaneveld for their impactful leadership that led to consistent strong performances over the years.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Kint remarked, “This is a fantastic moment to take on the role of CEO, based on a smooth transition and supported by our board of directors, our founder Hein Deprez, and very strong teams across the world. The company has great ambitions for further growth, and our pure-plant products respond to the needs of today’s consumers. We are in an excellent position to be a leading global actor in the consumer trend towards a healthier lifestyle and more sustainable food chains. The momentum for pure-plant food solutions is there, and we are ready to grasp it fully.”
