Sprouts Farmers Market Promote Curtis Valentine in the role of CFO
Sprouts Farmers Market has announced that Curtis Valentine, currently serving as the retailer’s Senior Vice President of Finance, will assume the position of Chief Financial Officer on January 1, 2024. This appointment follows the retirement of Lawrence “Chip” Molloy, who is set to retire at the end of 2023. Valentine’s promotion will make him the third person to hold the CFO role at Sprouts in less than four years.
Sprouts CEO Jack Sinclair assured investors during the earnings call that the transition is expected to be seamless.
Curtis Valentine has been with Sprouts since May 2015, when he initially joined as the Senior Director of Financial Planning, according to his LinkedIn profile. Earlier in his career, he held financial management positions at the pet product retailer PetSmart.
In August, Sprouts announced its search for a replacement for Molloy, who assumed the CFO position in September 2021. Molloy had taken over from former CFO Denise Paulonis, who left Sprouts to become the CEO of hair products chain Sally Beauty Holdings after a brief tenure of less than two years with Sprouts. Molloy had previously served as Sprouts’ interim CFO from June 2019 to February 2020 and, like Valentine, had a background with PetSmart.
