Named after the hotel’s billionaire owner, the world’s most expensive one-bedroom penthouse suite takes up all 4300 square feet of the Four Seasons 52nd floor. It was designed by Peter Marino and the legendary I M Pei (who died this year at the age of 102), with panoramic views of Manhattan from the suite’s four cantilevered glass balconies, which are the highest in the world. And as if that wasn’t enough, you have a private spa with a Chinese, onyx-clad, chromotherapy infinity soak tub, and a ‘Zen Room’ with a waterfall cascading from the ceiling, against a wall made of green bowenite semi-precious granite.

Laucala Island Resort Hilltop Estate, Fiji
A very luxurious villa located on its island in the Archipelago of Fiji, you would still have to seek approval via an application from the owner, Dietrick Mateschitz. The hotel has received many positive reviews, many calling it the Apex of the World. You cannot book a stay here, but being friends with the Red Bull founder might give you a chance to get a vacation here.
