How To Take Care Of Your Feet In A Busy Routine
In today’s stampede life, a woman never compromises with her family’s health. What remains unnoticed is her self-care! One can still take care of her face but poor feet remain neglected.
If done on a regular basis, you don’t have to devote much time for foot care. We care for you, so, we share a few foot care tips which you can follow even if you run out of time:-
Clean and dry feet
If you’ve been outdoor most of the day, then your feet are very much prone to dirt particles. First and foremost thing for you to do after coming back your home is to wash your feet properly, pat and dry on a daily basis. Don’t forget to moisturize before going to bed.
Exfoliate
If not taken care of properly, layers of dead skin cells gradually begin to develop over the feet as well. You can utilize your easily available pantry items for exfoliating coupled with moisturizing your skin that will barely take 10 minutes:
- Sugar scrub (paste of sugar and oil)
- Oat scrub (oats and salt with oil/water)
- Baking soda exfoliator (baking soda with water/milk)
You can also use some soft bristled brush to exfoliate your feet. Rinse with warm water. Don’t forget to apply moisturizing cream immediately after exfoliation.
Gentle massage
After a long fatigued day, foot massage will luxuriate you and extinguish your whole day blues rendering you a soothing effect. If possible, just go and grab an electronic foot massager. You can savor massage while doing other pieces of your work simultaneously. Apart from giving you a heavenly feel, massage also aids in the proper flow of blood in your body that counts as an anti-depressing activity, and promotes sound sleep.
Comfy footwear
Footwear is not restricted to its just outer care but feet are also required to be fit internally as well. You are supposed to pick the correct footwear. You shall not wear high heels if you are supposed to stroll a lot. If you are into some physical activity, as in hiking or trekking, you shall put on your favorite sneakers. This will prevent foot injury to the maximum extent possible.
Avoid sweating
If your feet sweat a lot and you are out for the whole day, then wearing shoes that don’t allow air to pass, will not be a good idea. Sweat causes bacteria to bloom leading to fungal infection and foot odor. You can soak your feet for 10-15 minutes in a bucket/tub with lime juice/vinegar and water(say, in the ratio of 1:3). You can also add an essence of your choice, say peppermint, lavender or sandalwood. This will not only eliminate foot odor, kill bacteria but also will leave you with a fresh and aromatic feel and luscious feet. Applying powder on your feet before wearing socks is also a good way to keep them dry and hygienic.
Regular cleaning
Don’t be lazy in routine cleaning of your feet, that includes:
- Trimming of nails on a weekly basis and cleaning on a daily basis. In case, it’s not possible for you to clean personally, then just give a visit to your nearby salon for a monthly pedicure.
- Removing corn, if any gets developed (bandages and tubes do come these days that removes corn painlessly).
Rub banana peel
Doesn’t it excite you that peel of an edible item can be used for beauty treatment? After eating a banana, just sit and rub its peel on your heels (before throwing it away in your dustbin) and rinse with warm water. Just a 2-minute rub can give you softer feet, isn’t it amazing?
Wash your shoes
You shall wash away and remove dirt from your shoes at least once a month. Cleaning your shoes can better be done with some antiseptic liquid (if not available, then your normal detergent will also do the job).
I bet, following these practices will undoubtedly leave you with clean, hygienic and softer feet without consuming much of your time.
