Liberty General Insurance announced on Thursday that Parag Ved has been appointed as its Chief Executive Officer and a director on the board. Parag Ved assumes his new role following the retirement of Roopam Asthana, who played a key role in establishing Liberty’s business operations in the region.
Before joining Liberty, Ved served as the President of Consumer Lines at Tata AIG General Insurance, according to the company’s statement. Parag Ved boasts more than two decades of experience in the insurance industry, having held senior leadership positions in various organizations, including ICICI Lombard General Insurance.
Ved holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering from KJ Somaiya College of Engineering, Mumbai, and a Master’s degree in Management from SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies.
Liberty General India initiated its operations in 2013 and currently employs over 1,100 individuals, with a presence spanning 100 locations across 28 states.
