Vivekananda Kedage, PhD: Leading With Vision in Cancer and Neuroscience Therapeutics

Vivekananda Kedage

The world of biotechnology is filled with breakthroughs that hinge on precision, persistence and innovation. In this realm, leaders like Vivekananda Kedage, PhD, play a critical role. With more than a decade of experience in translational science and molecular oncology, he has dedicated his life to advancing human health through research and therapeutic development. Spanning cancer research, neuroscience and entrepreneurship, Dr. Kedage’s work reflects his deep belief in the power of perseverance.

A Researcher Grounded in Grit

Dr. Kedage describes his career with one core principle: “There are no shortcuts to success.” He explains, “Whenever I tried to take one, it never worked. I learned that hard work, perseverance and grit are the only way to reach long-term goals.” That mindset has driven him from his early days as a PhD student to becoming a leader in therapeutic innovation.

Dr. Kedage’s academic journey began with a bachelor’s degree in general biology from Mangalore University and a master’s degree in medical biochemistry from Manipal Academy. He completed a Doctor of Philosophy in biochemistry at Indiana University Bloomington in 2016, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in molecular oncology at Genentech. “That postdoctoral work helped shape the concepts and platforms I use today,” he says.

Building New Platforms for Healing

Today, Dr. Kedage is the founder and chief executive officer of two new ventures: NeoPanacea Therapeutics and Archegos Therapeutics. While NeoPanacea is focused on developing a therapeutic platform for diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, Archegos aims at developing a novel plant-based supplement for iron deficiency anemia (IDA). “We’ve already published the concept,” he says. “Now we are building the team and moving toward launching our products.”

Dr. Kedage is currently seeking scientists, antibody engineers and protein scientists to join the effort. “In five years, I hope to see one or two of NeoPanacea’s therapeutics advancing through clinical trials, and Archegos’ supplements making a meaningful impact on iron deficiency anemia around the world.”

At the same time, Dr. Kedage serves as associate director of biology and translational sciences at LTZ Therapeutics. There, he helped design a versatile cancer research platform that set the foundation for therapeutic trials in early 2025. “The platform we built at LTZ was one of the highlights of my career,” he says. “It proved that strong science can translate into real-world impact.”

Recognition Across Institutions

Dr. Kedage has received many awards for his work. These include first-place honors at Indiana University’s Department of Urology and the Melvin and Bren Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center. He also earned the Gill Velocity Fellowship from the Kelley School of Business. “I feel honored to be recognized. But what matters most is that our work helps people.”

Dr. Kedage remains an active member of the American Association for Cancer Research and is the co-author of 19 scientific publications.

Life Beyond the Lab

Born in India, Dr. Kedage moved to the U.S. to pursue his doctoral studies. “My brother is a surgeon and my family has always supported my path.” Outside of research, he enjoys playing badminton and hiking. He also volunteers in leadership and military training and once served as a cadet captain of India’s National Cadet Corps naval wing.

Looking Forward: Building the Next Chapter in Neurodegenerative Research

Dr. Kedage looks ahead with clarity: “We’re in a crucial time for neuroscience and cancer therapeutics. My goal is to build a company that not only pushes research forward but creates real treatments that change lives.”

With a strong scientific foundation and a mindset built on vision and discipline, Dr. Kedage continues to lead the way in turning discovery into healing.
