She has also worked closely with UNICEF Canada, supporting programs in Ecuador and The Gambia focused on education and child safety.

Another area close to her heart is the arts. For over 17 years, she’s supported youth dance programs in Vancouver, especially the annual “Dancing Passion” gala. The show includes Chinese dance, K-pop, ballet, and more.

“It’s not about perfection. It’s about giving kids the confidence to express who they are,” she said.

She believes that art builds self-esteem and helps kids grow into leaders. She sees it as a way to connect cultures and communities.

A Global Outlook with Local Roots

Liao’s work spans many borders—China, Canada, and the U.S. Yet, she remains deeply tied to local communities. Whether it’s giving a speech in Vancouver or hosting a youth banquet in Toronto, she stays grounded in service.

In 2025, she was crowned WORLD MADAM Honorary Champion and Global Peace Ambassador. The award recognizes her efforts to empower women and promote peace through dialogue and shared understanding.

Still, she remains modest.

“I’ve been lucky to meet many great people. I just try to do my part,” she said.
