Christopher Mickey: From Real Estate to HVAC Innovation

Christopher Mickey

Christopher Mickey is a self-made entrepreneur from New Port Richey, Florida. His journey has taken him through different industries, from restaurants to real estate to HVAC. Along the way, he has built businesses, learned tough lessons, and found ways to give back to his community.

“I’ve always been someone who enjoys solving problems,” Christopher says. “If something isn’t working, I ask myself, ‘How can I fix this in a better way?’”

His career has been shaped by that mindset. Each challenge led him to new opportunities, and his ability to adapt has fueled his success.

From Pizza to Property

Christopher’s first big business move came in the restaurant industry. He took over a struggling pizza franchise and turned it into one of the top performers in the chain. That early success gave him confidence in his ability to run a business.

But he wanted something bigger. He and his wife started flipping houses, taking old properties and turning them into valuable homes. Over 17 years, they flipped more than 545 houses.

“Real estate taught me a lot,” Christopher says. “It showed me how important home systems are—plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. If you ignore them, they’ll cause big problems.”

That realization led to his next business.

The Birth of Airheads HVAC

During his years flipping houses, Christopher kept running into the same issue—unreliable HVAC services. It was hard to find contractors who did quality work on time.

“We’d be waiting on an HVAC repair to finish a project, and the delays would cost us money,” he says. “I got tired of it and thought, ‘Why not just start my own company?’”

So he did. He launched Airheads HVAC to provide reliable, energy-efficient cooling and heating solutions. His goal was to run the kind of company he wished he had worked with as a real estate investor.

“HVAC is something people don’t think about until it breaks,” he says. “But the right system can save money, improve air quality, and make a home more comfortable.”

Innovation and Efficiency

Christopher’s experience in real estate gave him an edge in the HVAC business. He understood what homeowners needed and where they wasted money. He focused on energy-efficient systems and smart technology.

“Technology is changing HVAC,” he says. “Smart thermostats, high-efficiency systems, and better insulation all make a huge difference in energy costs.”

His company helps homeowners find the best solutions, whether it’s upgrading an old system or installing new technology. He believes that making small changes can lead to big savings over time.

Giving Back to the Community

Christopher’s businesses aren’t just about profits. He believes in supporting the community that supports him.

When Hurricane Helene hit, many families in Pasco and Pinellas counties were left without working HVAC systems. Christopher and his team stepped up, donating equipment and offering free or discounted services to those in need.

“That was a wake-up call,” he says. “A business isn’t just about making money. It’s about helping people, especially when times are tough.”

Beyond disaster relief, he also supports local charities, sponsors youth sports, and works on community outreach projects.

“If you’re successful, you should give back,” he says. “That’s what makes it all worth it.”

Lessons Learned

Christopher has built multiple businesses, and he’s learned plenty of lessons along the way. One of the biggest is that no one succeeds alone.

“Early on, I thought I had to do everything myself,” he says. “But building a great team is key. You need people you can trust to handle different parts of the business.”

He also stresses the importance of taking action.

“Don’t wait for the perfect moment,” he says. “There’s never a ‘right time’ to start a business. Just start, learn as you go, and adjust when needed.”

Looking Ahead

Christopher is always thinking about what’s next. He wants to expand Airheads HVAC and continue pushing energy-efficient technology. He’s also looking for new ways to help homeowners save money and improve their living spaces.

“The goal is always to keep improving,” he says. “If you stay still, you fall behind.”

His journey—from pizza to property to HVAC—shows that entrepreneurship isn’t about sticking to one path. It’s about solving problems, taking risks, and staying open to new opportunities.

And for Christopher, the work is just getting started.
