Zurich UK Welcomes Drazen Jaksic as New CEO Amid Leadership Transition
Zurich’s UK branch has announced Drazen Jaksic as its new CEO, succeeding Tim Bailey, who has led Zurich UK since January 2021. The transition marks a significant leadership change for one of Zurich’s primary markets.
Alison Martin, CEO of EMEA & Bank Distribution, expressed her confidence in Jaksic’s abilities, noting his impactful contributions since joining Zurich. She described him as a high-caliber leader poised to further the success of Zurich UK.
Jaksic, who joined Zurich in 2019 as Head of Accident & Health Global and later served as CEO of Zurich Benelux, brings a wealth of industry experience to his new role. His professional history includes senior positions at Chubb, where he was SVP Accident & Health EMEA and CEO Ace Europe Life Limited, as well as roles at Combined Insurance, SBS Insurance Services Limited, Assurant Solutions, and Prudential.
Reflecting on his appointment, Jaksic emphasized his enthusiasm for advancing Zurich UK’s market position. He expressed his appreciation for the talented leadership team and highlighted the significant opportunities available in the UK market.
Tim Bailey, who will transition to the role of CEO Life Protection at Zurich, will report to Cara Morton, CEO of Zurich Global Ventures. Bailey’s new position will focus on building and leading a global life insurance business, a sector that has been central to his 16-year career at Zurich. His past roles include Chief Operating Officer for EMEA, CEO Life & Investments, and Country Head of Zurich Australia.
In reflecting on his tenure at Zurich UK, Bailey acknowledged the significant growth and strengthened market position achieved over the past four years. He expressed gratitude for working with a highly capable team and voiced confidence in Jaksic’s leadership to continue driving the business forward.
This leadership transition underscores Zurich’s commitment to fostering growth and innovation across its global operations, ensuring strong leadership in critical markets like the UK.
