Vantage Data Centers Announces Key Leadership Changes in Finance Team

Vantage Data Centers, a prominent global provider of hyperscale data center campuses, has appointed Christophe Strauven as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for North America. Strauven, who previously served as Senior Vice President of Capital Markets, was responsible for crafting and executing the company’s global capital-raising strategy through debt financing and managing financial risks. In his new role as CFO, North America, he will oversee finance, financial planning and analysis, accounting, and tax operations across the U.S. and Canada. Strauven succeeds Dave Renner, who has announced his retirement.
Rich Cosgray will take over Strauven’s former position as Senior Vice President of Capital Markets. Bringing over 16 years of experience in technology, media, and telecommunications (TMT) banking and finance, Cosgray joins Vantage from Truist Securities, where he served as Managing Director and Head of TMT Leveraged Finance. During his tenure at Truist, he specialized in digital infrastructure financing, working on projects involving data centers, fiber networks, broadband providers, and towers, and successfully facilitated over $100 billion in debt financing. Cosgray will be based at Vantage’s corporate headquarters in Denver, reporting directly to Sharif Metwalli, Vantage’s Global CFO.
Metwalli praised Strauven’s extensive experience, stating that his nearly three decades of expertise in developing growth strategies and managing complex investments make him well-suited for the CFO role. He expressed enthusiasm about working with Strauven to drive continued value for the North American business as the company anticipates significant growth in 2025. Metwalli also welcomed Cosgray to the team, emphasizing his strong track record and the critical role he will play in leading Vantage’s capital markets initiatives globally.
Additionally, Metwalli extended his gratitude to Dave Renner for his substantial contributions to Vantage since joining in 2014. Renner played a pivotal role in transforming the company from a regional data center operator into one of the world’s leading global providers. He served in various capacities, including CFO, North America, and Chief Administrative Officer. The company acknowledged Renner’s lasting impact and wished him well in his retirement.
