Billionaires’ Summer Escapades: Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, and Bernard Arnault Prefer Europe, while Burning Man attracts Elon Musk and Sergey Brin

European destinations are proving popular among billionaires this summer. Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg have embarked on lavish yacht holidays, while Bernard Arnault and Elon Musk are set to attend the Olympics and Burning Man festival.

Two weeks ago, Jeff Bezos and his fiancée, Lauren Sanchez, were seen touring Greece by air, sea, and land. The couple enjoyed a fortnight on the island of Mykonos, captured by paparazzi dining at upscale restaurants and strolling hand in hand. They navigated the Greek islands on their 127-meter superyacht, valued at $500 million, which can host 18 guests and requires a crew of 40. Bezos was seen in swim trunks and a life vest, while Sanchez donned a gold bikini as they rode jet skis in the Aegean Sea.

Similarly, Mark Zuckerberg and his family vacationed in Mallorca, Spain, aboard their newly acquired 118-meter yacht, built by Dutch shipyard Feadship and worth $300 million. Delivered on Zuckerberg’s 40th birthday in May, the vessel carried Zuckerberg, his wife, Priscilla Chan, and their three daughters through the Spanish island to the Ligurian Sea, which lies between the Italian Riviera and Corsica.

Other billionaires are also revealing their summer plans. The upcoming 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, scheduled from July 26 to August 11, have caught the attention of many affluent spectators. Bernard Arnault, CEO of luxury conglomerate LVMH, intends to attend. This year, the wealthy are expected to spend substantial sums for prime event access, athlete meet-and-greets, and front-row seats at the Opening Ceremony.

Meanwhile, the Burning Man festival in Nevada’s desert, a week-long celebration of art and self-expression, is set to draw tech moguls such as Elon Musk and Google co-founder Sergey Brin. Known for arriving in private jets and staying in luxury camps with air conditioning and personal chefs, these billionaires are expected to make a grand entrance once again.
