Sergey Kapustin: Crises Are a Time for the Growth of Online Education

Sergey Kapustin

Between 2000 and 2022, the world faced several crises. However, according to internal research from Statista, the online education market grew by 900%. Sergey Kapustin, an expert in the field, explained how this niche develops during times of crisis.

The Birth of Sergey Kapustin’s Unique Methodology

Sergey Kapustin has been working in online education for 15 years. In 2011, after analyzing various offline business models, Sergey Kapustin decided to pivot to the online world. At that time, the online product market was nearly empty. However, not everyone who ventured into it succeeded, as there was no comprehensive algorithm for developing and scaling products. Many of the individual tools that experts tried to use didn’t work in several areas.

After studying Western practices, Sergey Kapustin developed his own method for promoting online products and shared it with entrepreneurs. The platform for sharing this knowledge became the “info-incubator” that Sergey Kapustin created with a partner.

Three years later, a major economic crisis hit the CIS region. Many small businesses were on the brink of bankruptcy. The advantages of online businesses — low costs, no rent, smaller payrolls, and fewer employees — became key reasons for businesses to shift to the virtual market. By that time, Sergey Kapustin’s method for developing and promoting online courses had been tested and proven successful. The first successful cases of online schools that operated with the help of the info-incubator emerged. Sergey Kapustin set out to help entrepreneurs transition from offline to online as smoothly as possible. Through the info-incubator, business owners received assistance in choosing a niche, selecting a promotional strategy, and were even offered personalized partnership models within the project.

Accel Accelerator – A Platform for Success in the Post-Crisis Years

Years of analysis from dozens of case studies in the info-incubator helped create a systematic approach to the development and promotion of educational products. This knowledge formed the basis of the Accel Accelerator, launched in 2017. This educational platform taught businesses not only how to create online schools but also how to ensure they function effectively. Unlike quick three-day courses, Sergey Kapustin developed a full-year program, which culminated in a product ready for the market. Students received training materials, including ready-made scripts for promotion, writing emails, posts, and client communication. Support from a mentor was guaranteed throughout the program.

Thanks to Accel, over 1,200 online schools of various specializations were launched across the CIS region, reaching millions of students who were indirectly connected to Sergey Kapustin’s developments. Accel helped dozens of entrepreneurs recover from crises and start profitable businesses.

“Our final product was owners of profitable online schools,” Sergey Kapustin says of Accel’s work. “We listened to each person’s idea and helped them find the niche where they could succeed.”

To scale online schools, Sergey Kapustin and his partner launched the “Business Booster” project. “Large online schools operate on a different set of algorithms. They require various departments that need to be properly organized,” Sergey Kapustin explains. “These management systems have been successfully implemented in offline businesses. However, such a system can’t be directly applied to online businesses, so we adapted everything.”

In the “Business Booster” project, online school owners were invited to live events and conferences. Business clubs were formed, and technological solutions were introduced to streamline business operations and encourage dynamic growth.

Sergey Kapustin’s Online Institute – Industry Leader

In 2020, the global pandemic hit, but the online education market kept growing. That year, Sergey Kapustin’s online institute “Lakshmi-Ameya” received two prestigious awards: “Best Astrology and Esoterics Institute” and “Best Project for Promoting and Supporting Students in the Field of Astrology and Esoterics.” Both awards came from the respected “PERSONO 2020” prize, which recognizes projects that make a significant impact on their respective industries.

“Lakshmi-Ameya” was founded in 2016 and continues to thrive today. Sergey Kapustin implemented all his innovations there: an automated lesson system, a wide range of teaching materials, gamification, mentorship support, and even the opportunity to gain the first clients during training.

New Exclusive Solutions

Right after the pandemic, Sergey Kapustin launched the “Quanta” crypto investment online school on the international market. It was the first of its kind to offer a system for analyzing and creating cryptocurrency portfolios. Now, Sergey Kapustin is developing a new startup, the “Easyheaven” real estate investment online school. Targeting the U.S. market, the school covers three main areas: subleasing, house flipping, and commercial real estate investment in the U.S. Once again, Sergey Kapustin introduces innovation: for the first time in online education, training happens not just through an expert but also within a business community made up of students and major investors, eager to share their experiences and participate in investment projects.

Sergey Kapustin emphasizes that while online products theoretically have no geographical limits, every market requires a tailored approach. “I constantly analyze promotion algorithms in different countries. For example, in Russia, a large portion of the market consists of courses sold through Instagram launches. Experts engage in long ‘warming up’ periods through stories, do live streams, offer free lessons, showcase student results, and then make their sales. There have been $10 million Instagram launches in Russia. But such results are unheard of in the U.S. or Latin America. In the U.S., email marketing is still popular, and YouTube is widely used. Latin America is just beginning to develop on Instagram, using Telegram and email newsletters. Meanwhile, in Russia, email newsletters no longer produce the desired effect. ”

Sergey Kapustin’s years of successful experience in the online education market prove that, with the right approach and innovative solutions, the online school niche remains stable and promising, even in times of crisis.
