Where To Study Medicine In China – Check The Top 5 Universities

Quite recently, Chinese medical colleges have gained a lot of attention from students from all around the world. China offers excellent medical facilities and numerous scholarships to students, making them skilled professionals. Almost all the universities that teach medicine in China are recognized by World Health Organization (WHO). One major reason for moving to China for studies has been the cost of living, which is a lot lower than in other countries, attracting more students to study there. Below are some places where you can study medicine in China:

  1. Shantou University Medical College (SUMC) 

    Shantou University is located in Shantou, a beautiful coastal city in the Guangdong province. The MBBS program in China takes six years; however, at Shantou University, it only takes five years. The tuition fee, on average, is around US$6,186 per year. The university has only one intake every year, starting in September. Its application deadline is from May to July.
    Students are given scholarships under the name of outstanding foreign student scholarships. The curriculum here also allows students to learn the Chinese language and culture.
     

  2. Nanjing Medical University (NJMU) 

    NJMU is in Nanjing, a vibrant city with Chinese history and culture. This medical university has two different campuses in Wutai and Jiangning. The medical course takes about six years, and this university takes only 100 students yearly.
    The students there can take up a scholarship in various facilities. The university takes students only once a year. The tuition fee here for students is US$5,252 per year.
     

  3. Zhejiang University School of Medicine (ZUSM) 

    Zhejiang University is one of the most visited places by tourists in Hangzhou. The program here takes six years, of which five years of classroom training/ teaching and one year of internship. In the course, the students will go through three stages: pre-med for one year, pre-clinic for two years, and clinic for three years, and finally, internship for one year, in which doctors will supervise the students.
    The tuition fee here is around US$6,619 per year. The scholarship that the university provides is under the name Chinese government scholarship.
     

  4. Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University (SHMC) 

    Shanghai medical college is part of the famous Fudan University, one of China’s oldest and most prestigious universities. Shanghai University is in Xujiahui, a commercial district in Shanghai. Here as well, the program takes about six years.
    The university gives you the option of taking an internship in China. If you wish to accept that, you must clear HSK 5 before your internship for better communication with your patients. The average tuition fee of the university is around US$11,598 per year.
     

  5. Capital Medical University (CCMU) 

    A capital medical university is located in Beijing, China. Capital Medical University has some of the most advanced equipment, and its international faculty comprises 994 associates and 548 professors. The course takes six years to complete, which includes 1-year foundation, two years of primary medicine, two years of clinical medicine, and one year of internship.
    The students can take up their internships in 14 hospitals affiliated with the university. The general tuition fee of Capital medical university is US$7,732 per year. The capital university has tie-up with more than 20 countries worldwide and handles many student exchange programs.
