6 Simple Hacks For Better Communication

Being nice and doing well with people is not difficult, but for many people, it is like art, so simple and yet so hard to understand. Today we share six simple ways to show your love and appreciation to others, yourself and the whole world.

  1. Do not tease people when they do not seem to enjoy it
Teasing is about breaking the ice and walls that keep us apart. As long as it is done with good intentions, it is highly unlikely people will respond negatively. Still, we cannot predict other people’s reactions. Whatever we do, has to get feedback to see if we do something right or wrong. Being spontaneous could make you look better in other people’s eyes but don’t forget that mind has been given to us to use it. Feeling for others and stopping your jokes when they get hurt is more than welcome.
  2. Apart from being grateful, you have to say ”thank you”
As a society, we need to relearn how we perceive life. One of the most appreciated lessons we have learned is to be grateful for what we have instead of being impatient to always get more. In the meantime, it doesn’t hurt to practice this attitude in real life when we interact with others. There is a difference between being grateful to God or the universe and understanding the impact someone’s behavior had on you. This is where the magic words ”Thank you” appear; use them without hesitation, and a blossom of kindness will get back to you.
  3. Hear them all and filter them all
Another useful hack that gives signs of appreciation and good manners is our habit of letting others finish their sentences before we answer back. Our world is characterized by speed, and our quick rhythms usually make us impatient. We feel we understand the other one’s point, and it is our turn to talk. Letting others talk will help you in two ways. First of all, you will earn other individuals’ respect for your attitude, and secondly, you will get to hear their arguments. Who knows, maybe you will become wiser thanks to them and their interesting contribution to the conversation.
  4. Giving back what we owe
When we borrow stuff from others, regardless of whether it is money or physical goods, we are obligated to give them back when the time shows. It is important to remember that even if the person who lent you the money doesn’t ask for it back, you will still have to take the initiative and return it. This not only shows integrity but will also prove helpful in the future. In case you need money again, that person will not hesitate to offer their help instead of trying to avoid you.
  5. Do not take advantage of others when you are given the opportunity
Another good opportunity to show your good manners is treating people properly even when unnecessary. A good example of that would be the case when someone offers to take you out for lunch. It is up to you whether you will order the most expensive dish on the menu or whether you will choose to keep a low profile and choose something less extravagant. Besides, their financial situation may not be as good as they may want you to think.
  6. Leave something good behind you
A discrete move we may make can reveal much information about ourselves. Acting generously does not necessarily mean we provide financial security and support. It can also imply that we have the kindness to do good things, even when we know we will not receive the positive outcomes of our actions. An old African man planted 20 trees that would grow to five fruits in 50 years. He was asked why he did that since he would not live to enjoy the fruits from the tree. His answer was ” I ate fruits from trees that I didn’t plant. If everyone thought that way, now we would all be hungry…”
