What To Say To Make A Good Impression

People socializing in a gathering

Trying to impress others may not be the clue, but trying to give a good impression is a key element. Today, we refer to the five simple things you can mention in a conversation to create a positive image.

  1. The positive parts of your personality
First, you must bring up the things that make you an adorable personality. Everything that makes you look good in other people’s eyes is ideal. At this point, we talk about how you will make a good impression on your own without having the valuable help of friends who will try to talk you up in front of others. Having no one to help you with their support makes your work harder. Saying all the good things about you is not easy because you always have to face the danger of being misunderstood. Therefore, keeping a low profile and not mentioning all your positive characteristics is better. The idea now is to focus on these characteristics that particular people will appreciate. So, you will get to choose from the list of positive traits and talk about the ones people will find interesting.
  2. Things others say about you
To reinforce your words, you can always use references, what your friends say about you or a positive comment you had from your colleagues at work. Since they will not be present at the time, it is better to refer to people that your audience knows to check up on what you say about your common friends. This way, they will know you are not lying, and it will be easier to trust your words.
  3. Things you have done to help people
An interesting thing people will love to hear is that you are not only about taking, but you are a ”giver” as well. When we talk about ourselves, sometimes we have the tendency to exaggerate and point out so strongly how cool we are that we give the impression that we are narcissists. This approach, where you tell others what your contribution to society and to a closed circle of friends is, comes to correct the initial idea that you have a super-strong ego. It allows you to come out with a different, more humanistic, and approachable profile that will make people like you and respect you. Besides, it will allow them to open up sooner and trust you, which is the long-term purpose anyway.
  4. Things you have enjoyed
A thing that always impresses people is when others enjoy life. It is something that most people would be jealous of, and they have great admiration for it. Giving them the idea that you are a happy and positive person will immediately make them bring out their good mood. Finally, the positive parts will come to the surface. To do that, you need to be in a good mood yourself and smile. If this is not enough, we suggest you go ahead and talk about specific occasions when you had a very good time. An activity you enjoyed or a sport you like. Ideally, you can talk about how much you love your work and how happy you are in your marriage, etc. As always, we do not recommend lying. Just find the things that are indeed enjoyable and focus on them for a few minutes.
  5. What you have accomplished so far
Let us not forget that a part of who you are, is your path in this world. What you have done, what you have accomplished, and what kind of impact you had on the planet. In the beginning, we talked about how you will focus on the positive aspects of yourself. Now, we advise you to let your acts talk about you. When you meet someone, you are not expected to do something that will impress them immediately, but you can refer to things you have done in the past. If you are proud of your route so far, you can talk about that. In case you do not feel comfortable with that, you always have the chance to focus on some particular incidents that show your good character. The time you managed to do something valuable and yet hard is a typical example. The clue is to focus on your actions in general and try to provide positive feedback by bringing them up.
