Managing to Learn Time
Dear Reader, I appreciate your concern in reading the title “Learning to Manage Time”. There have been theories, speeches and exercises that have professed how to manage time. I would like to talk about the children at schools gearing up for counseling careers. I took this excerpt from my son addressing a teenager on how to manage time. He said learn to! Learn the time first and manage it then. Let me dwell further. There are few aspects of time that all of us are thorough with, namely, how many days in a year, don’t forget the ¼ there; hours in a day – 24 and not extendable; and then talking about a smaller unit, the milliseconds – as said the duration of eye blink is between 100 and 400 milliseconds according to the Harvard Database and varies from person to person, on an average of 17,000 times in a day. That is a lot much.
When asked or you question – I don’t have time or, where is the time to do something? The closest answer is “To PRIORTIZE”. Check which of the things-to-do-list is more important than the other and just work upon. Wow, the answer to a big question or a big answer to a remarkable mystery question is here.
Now a case study of a teenager for whom all the list he/she has are important and of great concern to study. The list can entail the regular classroom notes, tutor-forwarded guided reading, exercises at the end of each chapter and class, extra coaching exercises, exercises for better understanding of the subject, and so on. Don’t miss the cleanliness regime, dress, transit, play and eat to live happy and healthy. In this process, where are the exercises to understand whether the ward is understanding the subject specified in the first place.
So my humble submission is to prioritize the reasons that help to manage time at every stage for every person each time anything is to be done. Let us try to prioritize the possible reasons that may further help to do a good job. Some are listed for you – syllabus or school-based time-bound accomplishment of chapters, fear of subject or class or friends or subject teacher, thought of a particular submission to be eligible to attend next class, slow learners, language/communication barriers, fear for being asked and cannot answer as a result stressed and not being able to complete the task, personal and family concerns, improper scheduling and planning at hand, no guidance at home front, poor gadgets/ infrastructure and many more driving to a confused and non-productive education investment.
So some tips that may work for some are as follows:
- Have a practice to do your homework exercises DAILY esp coaching for competitive exams
- Practice to read with WRITING smaller notes while reading bigger ones (Efficient Timeliness)
- Sit to study for as much time as you can, concentrate and don’t drag self (Effective time management)
- Sho-Fo – Short Forms are believed to concise all information in totality (More in Less time)
- Strengthen your language, knowledge and skillset with class progression (BASICS in sync with time of studies)
- Breaks from work, increase productivity (Remember too many cooks spoil the broth) (If time would be money, no one would waste it at all) Time is precious.
More Than Positivity, You Should perform your responsibility as a student.
More than Reading, You Should understand the concepts of life.
More Than Marks, You Should write your learnings.
Dear students, you have worked hard, only by making the best use of the time you have, and I take this opportunity to applaud that you have devised your strategies and each of your models you tried and tested on yourself is a learning prototype. These are like you learned time in your state of affairs and your adversity but managed it in your stride and continue to excel in every sphere.
Now, you can plan to have some amount of time for your works and yourself only if you learn it because one thing is a known default – fixed 24-hour bracket. So propagate your brand new time learn-age model and cruise through towards a better manageable world.
