VeeamON 2022: Veeam Backup & Replication v12 and Other New Products to Expect Soon

During VeeamON 2022 in Las Vegas in the spring, Veeam® CTO Danny Allan announced Veeam Backup & Replication™ v12, the latest version of the award-winning backup solution. Veeam Backup & Replication v12 is targeted to be available to partners at the end of 2022, with general availability following. It will offer an expanded feature set and improved backup capabilities even more intricate than those that have recorded more than 850,000 downloads for Veeam Backup & Replication v11.

A key focus of Veeam‘s presentation was the integration of Kasten by Veeam K10 for Kubernetes, a cloud-native solution for AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and Microsoft 365 and Salesforce SaaS offerings. First, a closer look at the main event, the highly anticipated Veeam Backup & Replication v12.

Danny Allan revealed the Veeam product at the epicenter of the future of modern data protection to 1,500 VeeamON in-person attendees at the Aria Hotel in Las Vegas and another 45,000 registrants who signed up to participate virtually in VeeamON from their homes.

Allan announced that Veeam Backup & Replication v12 would have even more capabilities in cloud, security, and enterprise focus areas. V12 further reduces vulnerabilities, decreases the overall attack surface, and hardens the capabilities customers need in today’s evolving IT ecosystem. New capabilities introduced with V12 include:

• Backups going direct to object storage and cloud-based agents are also available as cloud-accelerated features
• With immutability everywhere, ransomware can be recovered, and threats against cyberattacks can be stopped even faster
• Improves efficiency at scale with additional enterprise application support and innovations
• A new Veeam Backup & Replication plug-in for Kasten by Veeam K10 V5.0 provides visibility and management for Kubernetes data protection.

IDC’s DR&P market ranks Veeam tied for No. 1 worldwide during the last half of 2021,[2] thanks to innovative solutions and consistent performance from every product before. As compared to all other vendors combined and the overall market average, Veeam had the fastest revenue growth in the worldwide data replication and protection market in the latest IDC Semi-annual Software Tracker. Year over year, Veeam grew more than double its top five competitors.

Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 v7

Integrating with Veeam ONE, Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365, which has over 11 million paid users, will feature enterprise-grade monitoring and reporting capabilities.

• Identify and resolve data vulnerabilities with a proactive management style in real-time.
• Detailed reports provide peace of mind and protection, providing more SLA confidence.

Veeam Backup for Salesforce

Veeam quickly restores Salesforce data from loss or corruption backup for Salesforce.

• Take control of your data by avoiding backup and storage lock-in, and deploy your backup environment wherever you like
• Backup and recovery are tailored specifically for Salesforce by utilizing native APIs. It will allow you to restore Salesforce records, hierarchies, fields, files, and metadata.
• Recover data quickly from loss due to human error, integration issues, or other common Salesforce problems

“With 450,000 customers and millions of contacts and leads, we need to protect that data,” Allan said. “And so, what we did is created a product that has the control and flexibility that was needed.” That control includes allowing customers to deploy the backup environment anywhere. It uses Salesforce’s native APIs, which enable the restoration of  Salesforce records, fields, files, metadata, and hierarchies.

Every solution displayed at VeeamON 2022 by Allan and his team at Veeam is either already available for purchase or plans to launch by the end of 2022.
