Which Are The Most Common Causes For Car Accidents And How To Prevent Them

People are afraid of all kinds of things but car accidents are actually among the most common causes of death. Having a crash with an airplane may carry a lot of chances to cause death but it is very unlikely to happen, whereas car accidents are now a routine. Five things you can do to avoid accidents are being discussed and they have to do with the most common reasons that cause unfortunate incidents.

  1. Distracted driving – keep your mobiles away
Driving without focus is unexpectedly the number one reason why people have accidents on the road. Even drugs and alcohol do not give the same number of car accidents. This is why mobile phones have been accused of many cases where drivers lose control of the vehicle. Multitasking is not easy and if the subject is being distracted in the first place answering the phone will not help them drive. Pressing buttons and receiving calls from probably more than one person while driving is regarded as multitasking. GPS also confuses some people, especially beginners, correct use of it can allow you to drive relatively safely. Number one you have to avoid when driving is using your cell phone. Even if you have your mobile connected to the car’s speakers the attention you will have to pay will take some of your focus away. Accidents can happen in the blink of an eye, so don’t underestimate this simple rule, you will have plenty of time to talk on the phone once you arrive at your destination.
  2. Avoid consumption of substances
Consuming substances can deform our sensation of reality. Driving under the influence of substances is the number-two reason why people have accidents on the road. It is not random that such hard penalties are imposed on people who drive while being drunk or high. There is a common misconception that the subject who consumes alcohol or other substances can realize the moment when they will become incapable to handle their vehicles. However, it doesn’t work this way. The moment you will realize you can’t drive will be many drinks after you actually lost control of your movements and a clear awareness of reality. In addition, many people think that leaving their car because they have lost complete consciousness is a sign of weakness, but this is not the deal here. Besides, it is not a big deal you can always take a taxi. Choose how you want to return home, with a taxi, with an ambulance, or with a squad car?
  3. Reduce speed
Industries have constructed such good vehicles that allow us to drive as fast as formula drivers. Still, the roads we drive in our everyday life do not have the same quality. At the same time, other drivers and traffic make the puzzle more complicated. Someone may forget to turn on the flash and someone else may change his mind and stay on the same lane after all. Taking the challenges road gives into consideration you will conclude that driving fast may not be the smarter thing to do on common roads. You don’t have to drive your car to its limit. Respect the signs on the road and the other drivers and slow down.
  4. Care for the weather conditions
The weather is unpredictable and one could say it is not our responsibility. The weather itself is not the driver’s responsibility, but how he will act on it it is. Checking the weather can prove to be the smart thing to do especially when you carry your family in your vehicle. There are two weather conditions you should worry about the most. The one is heavy rain that reduces visibility and the second one is little rain that makes the road slippery and reduces the stability of the car.
  5. Ensure that you drive a safe vehicle
Last but not least, the car itself is a parameter that plays a vital role in your safe driving. Tires and breaks are apparently the most important to help your car stop on time when a dangerous situation appears. We suggest you often check with authorized representatives and not trust your neighbor’s opinion about what might be wrong with your car. It is the least pricey expense you will have to do for your safety and it definitely worths it.
