5 tips to get the best employees on your team

Work covers one-third of our daily life. Eight hours out of twenty-four are spent behind a desk or over your laptop. We grow up in a society where career is overestimated and our minds are overthinking about work. Feeling satisfied in that field is of great significance for most people in the western world. Especially the United States and North Europe grow nations of work-oriented people. Success is only related to job achievements and those who work for others have developed a whole philosophy over what they want from their company. Today we tried to evaluate the things that carry the most significance for the employees and see how an employer can satisfy the majority of them. Being able to provide what they need will help the leaders have the choice to decide who they will have on their team.

  1. Salary: It is the most straightforward concept that helps you reach some conclusions on how much your effort is worth. Salary will also determine the financial freedom an employee can gain in other aspects of his life. Will they be able to go on vacation where they want, or will they have to settle for the nearest destination? Will they be able to send their kids to the right private school, and save for their college? These are questions that arise in everyone’s heads when they are being offered a job. We could say salary is the number one criterion to determine if the deal with the company is a win-win situation.

  2. Benefits: Apart from the salary, there are a bunch of benefits and perks employees can get from a company. Medical care and competitive compensation are perhaps the most crucial to help an employee come work with you. These are actually the things that people who intend to stay in a company value the most. Older employees, people who have families, and kids to raise are apparently concerned about these issues that may sound like details for others. These people like to play it safe, and in a competitive society like the one we live in, no one can blame them.

  3. Growth: A satisfying salary though, is nothing compared to what potential one position can offer to the employee. It has to do with the general concept of hope. Working for a company is strictly related to promotions. Every profession gives people the ability to grow. Still, companies are highly competitive places and what people seem to seek the most is the opportunity to become executives and climb up the stairs to success. A company should be able to provide the feeling that there will be something more to this job. Besides, the employees that employers want are the ambitious ones, those who have motivation on their own, and are willing to do a little extra to get promoted.

  4. Learning: Not few are the employees who go into a company with the expectation to learn what they need and leave for a more prominent company. This is not something that should be taken the wrong way. These people are probably the ones who will try the most while they work for you. When the time comes, they might decide to leave but they will never leave you high and dry. These people want good references from their current company to put in their resume. They will do anything to keep you satisfied and have you on their side. Even training at the beginning of the job will be appreciated. During their cooperation with your company they will be an example for other employees and should feel confident for having them in your team.

  5. Trust: Finally, where does the company stand? Will it be in the industry in the next ten years or are they expected to close any moment? When someone applies for a job it is nice to feel they will have the opportunity to work there for a long time if they wish to. Even if they decide to leave it is better to have the experience of working for a big company in their resume. The prestige of a company will benefit them in many ways, so they have to be convinced of your place in the business world.
