Asia is the next stop in the fashion bandwagon, as they say. Its influence in the fashion industry has reached unprecedented levels and will only keep growing with time. Many models have emerged from the continent and become some of the most prominent models globally. A good number of them have signed up with top-notch international modelling agencies, walked prestigious fashion shows in and outside Asia, and have been extensively covered in media.   1. Liu Wen
    One of the most successful models to have come out of China, Liu Wen is a force to reckon with. Hailed as the country’s first supermodel, she has achieved many feats throughout her modeling career: from being the first East Asian model to walk for the coveted Victoria’s Secret to be the first Asian model to find a place among Forbes’ highest-paid models in the world. She is currently managed by a New York-based agency called The Society Management. Many international magazines have roped her in for high-end photoshoots such as Harper’s Bazaar. Her long list of associations with fashion designers includes Lane Crawford, Hugo Boss, Calvin Klein, Alexander Wang, and Converse.

  2. Godfrey Gao
    We may not have Godfrey Gao with us anymore, but his place in the Global fashion industry will remain inviolable. Born in Taiwan, Godfrey Gao went on to become Asia’s first male supermodel. However, his career improved in leaps and bounds when he became the first Asian ambassador for the international brand, Louis Vuitton. Soon after, he could be seen all over in media, from magazines to reality shows. He also made his debut in the film industry soon after he started modelling in Taiwan. In the year 2013, he made his official Hollywood debut as Magnus Bane in The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. He is, however, best known for his role in The Jade pendant for which he received 2 Golden Angel Awards.

    Known as Tao in the modelling world, Tao Okamoto is a celebrated Japanese model who is best known for her association with the fashion powerhouse, Ralph Lauren. In her 14-year long modelling career, she has worked with a galaxy of fashion designers such as Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Alexander McQueen, Miu Miu, Tommy Hilfiger, Yves Saint Laurent, Kenzo, Louis Vuitton, and Dolce & Gabbana. Aside from her illustrious modelling career, she is also making inroads into Hollywood and has been part of many famous movies such as The Wolverine, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Hannibal.

    Sung Jin Park is a popular South Korean model known for his esteemed associations with many reputed modelling agencies such as Modelwerk Hamburg, Nomad Management Miami Beach, I Love Models Management Milan and Premium Models Paris.  Many fashion designers have roped him in for walking their fashion shows such as Diesel, Loewe, Tim Coppens, John Galliano, DKNY, Calvin Klein, Neil Barrett, and Hugo Boss.
