Work. Life. Bliss: Anguilla Targets WFH Community for Extended Stays, Remote Work Visas

If you are currently WFH (Working from Home), the Government of Anguilla is inviting you to consider changing your status to WFHiA (Working From Home in Anguilla). According to the Real-Time Population Survey from the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, almost a quarter of employed workers (24% ) were working from home every day in August, while an additional 18% did so some days.

Anguilla also enjoys a remarkable track record in managing and containing the COVID-19 pandemic. With only 3 confirmed cases on island and no fatalities, Anguilla was designated COVID-19 free by the World Health Organization (WHO) in June 2020, and is currently assessed as “No Travel Health Notice: Very Low Risk for COVID-19” by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

To date, there are no active or suspected cases on the island, and to ensure that this remains the case, Anguilla’s entry requirements include a negative test result obtained three to five days prior to arrival, along with travel health insurance that covers COVID-related treatment. All visitors will be given a PCR test on arrival, and a second test will be administered on day 10 of the visit, for those originating from low-risk countries, and on day 14 for guests arriving from higher-risk countries. Once a negative result is returned after the second test, guests are then free to explore the island.

To get started, visit the Anguilla Tourist Board – a dedicated concierge will guide you through the application process. Here you will also find information on schooling, shopping, banking, transportation, religious establishments, shipping of personal possessions, and other essential data. Certain fees do apply, to cover the costs of the two (2) tests per person, surveillance, the additional public health presence, the extended immigration time/entry and a digital work permit.

The fees are outlined below:

• Individual: US$2000 per individual
• Family: US$3000 per family (defined as a party of 4: applicant, spouse, and dependents a child or step-child under age 26 or any other relative who by reason of age or infirmity of the body is wholly dependent on the applicant for sustenance). US$250 for each additional dependent.
