Most Expensive Footwear Brands in the World

From fairy tales to fashion shows, shoes have made all the difference. I am sure that many of us would have, at some point in time, gazed lustfully and dreamt about owning a dream luxury pair of shoes. Going through the same emotions, we thought about bringing you the 5 most expensive footwear brands in the world.

Extravagance in shoes is not without cause, investing in a pair of good looking footwear will pay off. Be it your office or an evening out with friends, looking your best has never done anybody any harm. So get your pen and paper pad, and make a list of the following!

  1. Christian Louboutin
The name that is known by its vastly recognizable red-sole shoes, Christian Louboutin has an interesting story about its inception. After losing several jobs and eventually starting his fashion line, Christian was inspired by his secretary’s red nail paint and decided to give his product a makeover.
The footwear gained popularity. The name of the brand became synonymous with beautifully designed high-heels with red soles. There were a few legal tussles with Saint Laurent but the name, reputation, and legacy of the brand remain untarnished.
  2. Manolo Blahnik
If you want to indulge in top tier luxury, Manolo Blahnik is the name you want to flaunt. Custom design, handcrafted soles, and intricate detailing set Manolo from other brands. His shoes are not mass produced but rather made to order.
Manolo crafts his shoes either as a pursuit of his passion or as a statement to be showcased at shows. At a time when even luxury brands are looking to expand their reach, Manolo remains humble in his ambitions and limited in his production. Not to be confused with limitations, Manolo’s approach has, if anything, boosted the demand and popularity of his shoes.
  3. Jimmy Choo
Coming from a long line of shoemakers, Choo Yeang Keat was, for a very long time, the ‘go-to’ designer for celebrities. Jimmy Choo catapulted him into international prominence and everyone from Princess Diana to Elizabeth Hurley wanted his designs. Riding on the back of genuinely good products and a rush of celebrity endorsement, Jimmy Choo became an international success.
Jimmy Choo has also been popularized by pop culture and strategic product placement. But these are not a criticism of the brand; they are a nod in acknowledgment of the hard work put in by the designer.
One of the most popular and recognizable brands, Jimmy Choo has one of the most loyal customer bases in the world. The brand is one of the very first to gain such popular demand even while being one of the most expensive and appreciated luxury footwear brand.
  4. Alexander McQueen
Outlandish design and over-the-top accessories are the mark of Alexander McQueen. But you don’t need to have an eccentric taste to relate to this brand; what draws people in is the fact that investing in a pair of McQueen will set you apart from the crowd. Walking into its stores, however, you would think that this might be the place where Lady Gaga goes shopping.
But jokes aside, Alexander McQueen houses some of the most sought after designs in footwear. It celebrates the uniqueness and promotes the individual attempt to stand apart in a crowd. The designs are individually crafted keeping in mind different sets ad expressions of emotions. For McQueen, every design is a canvas that must be expressively utilized.
  5. Miu Miu
The brand was named by Miuccia Prada, but the similarities end there. On one hand, Prada is known for its minimalistic and simplistic designs; on the other hand, Miu Miu is known for its extravagant and over-the-top approach. Its product design is a statement in itself, embracing vibrancy and ushering in youthfulness. It is most popular amongst young adults.
At the time of its establishment, Miu Miu broke the monotony with its vibrant take on couture, feminism, and luxury. At the time it was getting started, fashion was a world dominated by men’s clothing and somber approach towards design. But it broke that circle by introducing an element of disregard for generally accepted norms and creating a trend of its own.
