These Are The 8 Tips For Mental Well Being

The world is moving and changing at such a vast rate, with umpteen new issues cropping up on a daily basis, there are a rising number of concerns around the quality of life in general, specifically, the mental wellbeing of the common man. As it turns out, the greatest war on war on Earth is not being fought between nations of factions, but the one within the soul. Depression, anxiety, insomnia and other such problems coming as a direct consequence of poor mental health, are affecting more and more people on a daily basis. Part of the reason for this is the extreme saturation of information from social media that can sometimes become too much to handle, and in recent times, with the covid-19 pandemic, people have also lost jobs. And so, the average person of Earth looks towards a quite shaky and uncertain future, and in such a scenario, the importance of mental wellbeing cannot be understated. This article shows you the top tips to get your mental health in tip top condition.

  1. Get the basics right. Fix a doctor appointment
You don’t have to get bogged down by peer pressure or the feeling that fixing an appointment with a “shrink” might lower your place in society. You’d be surprised to know how many people actually are in dire need of a psychiatrist. Its important to speak your mind, and untangle it from its many vexations. Qualified help should be the first order of things in this regard.
  2. A healthy diet
This goes on without saying. No matter what your lifestyle is, a good and balanced diet cannot be ignored at any cost. In fact, the importance of this aspect is criminally underrated. Eat well, feel good. The mind will thank you for that.
  3. Meditate and workout
Meditation and a full body workout are important constituents of good lifestyle habits. Specifically, they help you in getting out of stress, depression and anxiety like no other. On a broader viewpoint, these two habits instill a sense of discipline in your life. And if your life is disciplined with a daily set of things to do, you will be at peace with yourself.
  4. Get off social media
It is an absolute veracity that an overdose of information, a chunk of which is mostly misinformation, can cause a lot of headaches for you even though nothing could be farther than the truth. The internet and social media is rife with false information created to keep you in a constant state of fear. What you have to understand is that there is a life beyond the world of internet and it is a peaceful one. Try it out for a week.
  5. Increase your serotonin levels.
What that means is, you need to keep your humor up. Take part in activities, entertainment and circles that focus on keeping your mind light and afloat with comedy. Laughter is an age old medicine to fix depression and mental entanglements. Start with stand-up comics. A quality presentation a day from a good stand-up artist can mean night and day in your serotonin levels.
  6. Start having pets, if you haven’t alread
The unconditional love that you will get from your pet, especially if it’s a dog, is unparalleled. After a long, hard day from work, what you really need is a cuddle and undivided attention from someone or something. And if you don’t have that special someone, a pet is all you need. It will de stress you before you’d know it.
  7. Go on a vacation
It doesn’t have to be a globe-trotting mission. Just go out in the open on a weekend in a secluded spot near your place and be one with Nature. It will give you a chance to reflect on yourself and hit the rest button that you need to take on fresh challenges.
  8. Open up to your inner circle
If you are fortunate enough to have a posse of close friends, a clique for that matter, it would do you a whole world of good if you just just open up to them and vent out your feelings. Chances are, your friends might be in a similar predicament and opening up between yourselves would create a kind of a support group. And it will help keep you mentally sane in the long run.
