Top 10 Selling Cars In The US In First-Quarter 2020

In the United States, the automotive sector is one of the largest manufacturing industries. It is estimated that by the end of 2020, almost 287 million cars will be registered. At the same time, a total of 843.296 pickup trucks and SUVs were sold in the first month of 2020 in the United States.

Drivers in the first quarter of 2020 chose major models such as Ford F- Series, Chevrolet Silverado, and Ram Pickup. Let’s have a look at the list with the top-selling cars in the US in the first quarter of 2020.

First comes the Ford F- Series with 186.561 cars sold in the first quarter of 2020. The number of Ford F- Series cars sold in the first quarter of 2020 has dropped 13,1% compared to the first quarter of 2019. Sales were also good in the first quarter of 2020 for Ford Explorer (56.309) and Ford Escape (48.116). It is worth mentioning that sales for Ford Ranger skyrocketed in the first quarter of 2020 compared to the first quarter of 2019.  More specifically, sales showed an increase of 122,7%.

Second, comes Chevrolet Silverado with 143.698 cars sold in the first quarter of 2020. The number of  Chevrolet Silverado cars sold in the first quarter of 2020 has dropped 25,7% compared to the first quarter of 2019. Sales were also good in the first quarter of 2020 for Chevrolet Equinox (73.453) and Chevrolet Malibu (35.284). Sales of the Chevrolet Blazer showed a significant increase in the first quarter of 2020 compared to the first quarter of 2019. More specifically, sales showed an increase of 632,5%.

Ram Pickup is at the third place of the list with the top-selling cars in the US in the first quarter of 2020 with 128.806 cars sold. The number of Ram Pickup cars sold in the first quarter of 2020 has increased 7,3% compared to the first quarter of 2019.

At number four of the list comes Toyota RAV4 with 97.631 cars sold in the first quarter of 2020. The number of Toyota RAV4 cars sold in the first quarter of 2020 has increased 16,5% compared to the first quarter of 2019. Also, good sales registered in the first quarter of 2020 Toyota Camry (77.188) and Toyota Corolla (69.214). Sales of Toyota Yaris showed a significant decrease in the first quarter of 2020 compared to the first quarter of 2019. More specifically, sales showed a decrease of 69,4%.

Honda CR-V completes the top 5 of the list with the best selling cars in the US in the first quarter of 2020 with 71.186 cars sold. Though, the number of Honda CR-V cars sold in the first quarter of 2020 has decreased by 18,4% compared to the first quarter of 2019. Also, good sales registered in the first quarter of 2020 Honda Civic (63.944) and Honda Pilot (23.898).

The next one comes GMC Sierra with 53.008 sales in the first quarter of 2020. The number of  GMC Sierra cars sold in the first quarter of 2020 has increased 30,7% compared to the first quarter of 2019.

Dodge Grand Caravan places at number seven of the list with 24.931 cars sold in the first quarter of 2020. Though, the number of Dodge Grand Caravan cars sold in the first quarter of 2020 has decreased 29,7% compared to the first quarter of 2019. Furthermore, good sales registered in the first quarter of 2020 Dodge Charger (18.628) and Dodge Durango (17.805).

Chrysler Pacifica, Buick Encore and BMW X5 come at the 8th, 9th and 10th place of the list respectively. Almost 24.500 Chrysler Pacifica cars were sold in the first quarter of 2020. The number of Chrysler Pacifica cars sold in the first quarter of 2020 has slightly increased 5,4% compared to the first quarter of 2019. Also, 16.839 Buick Encore cars were sold in the first quarter of 2020 and 10.637 BMW X5 at the same period.

Not to forget to mention that drivers in the United States didn’t express their interest for specific models in the first quarter of 2020 such as Alfa Romeo 4C (31 cars sold), Audi R8 (98 cars sold), Fiat 500L (130 cars sold) and Volkswagen Touareg (3 cars sold). Also, sales for Cadillac XT5 decreased 87,3% in the first quarter of 2020 compared to the first quarter of 2019. Jaguar registered a 100% drop in sales. Almost, 400 cars Mercedes Benz SL-Class were sold in the first quarter of 2020 and 400 cars Porsche 718.
