Top 5 Ways To Increase Productivity As A Student

Students have a lot to do in what might seem like a very little time. Along with scoring good marks, they also have to take part in extra-curricular, get enough rest, and take out some time to relax.
All of this might seem a little overbearing, but if one knows how to manage their time properly, this seemingly enormous task can be completed with little effort. But the key here is to manage time efficiently and properly. The following are the top 5 ways to increase efficiency and productivity for students.

  1. Planning and tracking time
Time management is the first step to increasing your productivity. One needs to have a set time to do all the stuff they have on their checklist for the day. Setting out time for specific activities and trying to complete those activities in the given time will prove helpful and will also ensure that all important tasks are completed on time. For this purpose, both manual and digital ways are helpful. There are useful time management apps on the internet that can help with managing time. Managing time will help in reducing time wastage and will also form a good habit of punctuality.

  2. Setting deadlines
Fixing a deadline for an assignment, as soon as it is given, will help in reducing procrastination and increase work efficiency. It will ensure that the assignment or the activity is not completed at the last minute and is done properly. Setting deadlines put a little pressure on the student which further acts as a motivation for them to finish the assigned task on time. This habit is also helpful in preparing the student for their work-life when the pressure is double and the time is half.

  3. Taking regular breaks
When somebody studies for hours without a break, their brain can become tired and instead of absorbing all the important points, they might not even register it properly. Taking a break helps the brain to relax so that we can start working again afresh. Whether it be a small 10-minute music break or a 30-minute nap in between the study session, taking a small break always proves helpful in retaining information more efficiently. Apart from this, taking out time to relax every week can also be really helpful in increasing productivity. Going out with friends or just sitting at home watching a movie can have a huge impact and help in relaxing both the mind and the body.

  4. Grouping tasks.
Making small groups of similar tasks can help prioritize those tasks and decide what to complete first. Make groups according to the relevancy and importance of each task and then go on to complete each of the tasks accordingly. If done properly, it will save you a lot of time. This technique will help make all the mess seem organized and will also help to complete the tasks methodically and on time.

  5. Eating healthy and sleeping on time
Having a healthy diet makes the body and the brain healthier and more efficient. Eating fresh fruits and an iron and vitamin-rich diet will make sure that the body is ready to function properly and will also help in avoiding fatigue, which could prove to be a very big hurdle in achieving productivity. Drinking plenty of water from time to time will ensure that that the body is refreshed and free of any toxins. Along with eating healthy, it is also essential to maintain a healthy sleeping cycle. As the saying goes, “Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.”. Sleeping on time is also necessary for the body to relax and restart. A bad sleep cycle could result in fatigue and tiredness, which in turn will decrease the overall efficiency of the student.

One major difference between a good performing student and a comparatively weaker student is in the way they maintain and manage their productivity and time. Managing the productivity might seem like an uphill task but is in reality just plain and simple management of time. If carried out properly, it can make a huge difference in your life and can be a huge stepping stone for success!
