Fabrics That Keep You Cool During Summers

Summers have already approached us that makes us feel like wearing something lightweight and which lets our skin breathe. Want to wear such kind of stuff but don’t know which fabric is suitable for summer and which is not? Well, we are here to clarify your doubts. Here is the list of fabrics perfect for your summer days:-

Cotton

Inevitably your summer partner, cotton is the best friend of anyone. Be it male or female, young or old, everybody wants to wear comfortable clothes. Cotton leads the chart of most summer-friendly fabric. It is not only less expensive but also hugely available in the market. Have you ever wondered what makes it the best for hot weather? Cotton is soft and light-weight and has the capacity to soak up all the sweat that actually makes your skin feel like breathing. Highly available in a variety of shades and styles, it has the capability to make you fall for cotton outfits. The only demerits it has is that it wrinkles pretty easily and your sweat may cause stains in your armpits and collars (if in lighter shades).

Linen

It is yet another top choice amongst folks, especially for the summer collection. This comfortable fabric possesses double strength in comparison to cotton which varies from hand-washable to dry-cleanable, from lightweight to heavyweight. It’s like, the higher the cost, the better is the quality. The natural off-white color of this durable fabric tolerates dyes well and does not fade. Though it also wrinkles very easily that can be pressed flat with a hot iron. Though it is a much thicker fabric than cotton it is much more robust and durable. Linen is a very good conductor of heat and that’s the reason why your linen garments feel cool to touch. It quickly removes perspiration from the skin.

Khadi or Kheddar

This eco-friendly fiber is handspun and hand-woven natural fiber cloth, mainly woven in pure cotton but it can also be done in silk and wool or a blend of others. Khadi is a versatile fabric and has such a unique property that helps to keep you warm in winters and cool in summers. It is woven in such a way that creates air pockets and possesses certain handcrafted self-texture that makes it unique and slightly expensive too. Its threads are woven very strongly and this strength makes it highly durable. Khadi is the pride of India and Khadi products are 100% natural that makes it a body-friendly fabric which doesn’t cause any allergies or irritations. Wearing Khadi products makes you stand out in the crowd. It requires high maintenance and you have to apply starch to keep it at its best.

Denim

Denim is also a strong and durable fabric which is woven in twill with indigo and white yarn. It is basically a stocky cotton warp-based fabric in which the weft passes under two or more warp threads. It’s fitness, ease and durability make it the first choice of everyone. This one is yet another versatile fabric and counts as one of those few fabrics that can go well for chilling purpose as well as at your workplace. This fabric is so durable that it may last for years if proper care is taken of. Just launder in cold water with a non-bleach detergent to make them last longer.

Rayon

Rayon is a human-made fiber made from regenerated cellulose fiber. The wood from trees is treated with chemicals to extract cellulose, which is spun into thread. Rayon is a good fabric for sportswear and of course, summer dresses, as it is breathable, comfortable and cool to wear. It was invented as a cheaper alternative to silk. It can basically imitate the feel and texture of linen, cotton, silk and wool. Rayon fiber is pretty comfortable, soft to the skin and possesses the average dry strength. Sometimes it can be used in blending with other fabrics to reduce cost, to increase luster, softness and comfort.
