Revealed: Countries Where Women Feel Secure, Respected, Equal, And Unthreatened: Ranking 2018

Remarkably, Iceland tops the 2018 list of the countries where women feel secure, respected, equal, and unthreatened, while Syria, Afghanistan, and Yemen are at the bottom. Norway was placed at No. 2 among 153 countries, followed by Switzerland, Slovenia and Spain.

To identify the countries where women feel secure, respected, equal, and unthreatened, CEOWORLD magazine reviewed University of Georgetown’s Institute for Women, Peace and Security’s data to determine the nations where women feel equal in 2018. The study took into account the condition of women and their empowerment in homes, communities, and societies more broadly. It is one the first index to capture women’s inclusion, security, and access to justice. Iceland ranked highly in almost all the categories.

In other Indo-Pacific Region, Singapore ranked at 10 on the index; Australia: 17; the United States: 22; Japan: 29; Laos: 54; Philippines: 68; Thailand: 89; Vietnam & Malaysia: 91; Cambodia: 95; Indonesia: 90; Myanmar: 119; and India: 131.
