Revealed: BIMSTEC’s Top 65 Best Universities For 2019

India leads the BIMSTEC region (BIMSTEC region) on performance, with forty-nine universities in the 2019 Times Higher Education University Rankings, led by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), ranked in the 251–300 band, and IIT Indore in the 351–400 band.

It’s a mixed picture for Thailand. The country had 14 institutions represented in the 2019 table, but none in the top 500, while Nepal and Sri Lanka had one ranked institution each. The list, which ranks the top 1,258 academic institutions, BIMSTEC region has increased its presence in the table -With 65 universities represented.

Home to approximately 1.5 billion people, the BIMSTEC region is a South and Southeast Asian trade bloc of seven countries. Its full members are Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Nepal, and Bhutan. With the permanent secretariat is in Dhaka – a BIMSTEC free trade agreement is under negotiation.
