Revealed: The 20 Most Powerful Countries In The World 2018

China has been ranked as the third most powerful nation in the world, in an annual poll by the US News & World Report, ahead of Germany and the United Kingdom. Taking first place for the most powerful nation, not surprisingly, was the United States.

Russia, the world’s largest country by landmass, ranked second most powerful nation. The United Kingdom was closely followed by France, Japan, Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. The study also explained:

To determine the strongest nations, the study looked at 5 categories: the leader of the country, how economically influential it is, how politically influential is, strong alliances internationally, and strong military alliances.
