These are the 20 least corrupt countries on earth for 2017

New Zealand has been named the least-corrupt country on earth, according to analysis from Transparency International, scoring 89 out of 100.

Narrowly, beating Denmark to top spot. Finland, Norway, and Switzerland come in joint third, and Singapore and Sweden are tied in the fourth position.

Countries are then scored on a scale of zero, for highly corrupt, to 100, for very clean. The United Kingdom ranked joint 8th place alongside Luxembourg, Canada, and the Netherlands. While the United States ranked in joint 16th place alongside Belguim and Austria.

The bottom three positions were Syria with a score of 14, South Sudan at 12, and Somalia scoring just nine out of 100.
