The Top 25 U.S. Cities Where Millennials Are Moving, Right Now, 2017

Researchers from the SmartAsset compiled a list of the cities where Millennials are moving, and found that Charlotte in North Carolina, had the greatest increase in the total number of millennials.

Overall our data shows that 71,240 millennials immigrated to the city, while 60,533 emigrated from the city. This left Charlotte with a net gain of 10,707 millennials, the most in the country.

The list puts an emphasis on how many millennials immigrated to the city, how many of a city’s residents aged 25 to 34 emigrated from the city, and the net gain. It used data from the 2015 U.S. Census Bureau’s 1-Year American Community Survey to look at migration data on 218 cities, all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Here are the top 55 new cities for millennials, right now — cities that have actually seen the most relative growth in their population of 25- to 34-year-olds.
