Yes, Bill Gates is back with his summer reading list.

This week, Bill Gates has revealed his 2017 summer reading list – Five books: four non-fiction (three memoirs plus one big book on humans, and a rare novel, all of which “pushed me out of my own experiences, and I learned some things that made me question my own thinking about how the world works,” Gates wrote on his blog.

America has a new reader-in-chief.

Each year, Bill Gates offers his list of the most important summer reads — this year’s recommendations are primarily non-fiction — a mixture of biography and memoir, not as focused on science and mathematics as last year.

Here are the 5 books Bill Gates recommends you read this summer:

  1. A Full Life, by President Jimmy Carter.

Gates says, “The book will help you understand how growing up in rural Georgia in a house without running water, electricity, or insulation shaped — for better and for worse — his time in the White House.”

  2. Born a Crime, by Trevor Noah.

Gates says, “Much of Noah’s story of growing up in South Africa is tragic. Yet, as anyone who watches his nightly monologues knows, his moving stories will often leave you laughing.”

  3. Hillbilly Elegy, by J.D. Vance.

Gates says, “While the book offers insights into some of the complex cultural and family issues behind poverty, the real magic lies in the story itself and Vance’s bravery in telling it.”

  4. Homo Deus, by Yuval Noah Harari.

Gates says, “I don’t agree with everything Harari has to say, but he has written a smart look at what may be ahead for humanity.”

  5. The Heart, by Maylis de Kerangal.

Gates says, “The book uses beautiful language to connect you deeply with people who may be in the story for only a few minutes.”
