We are thrilled to share that Greek islands, Greece has been voted the No. 1 catamaran sailing holiday destination in the world for 2017, followed by Croatia’s Adriatic coastline and the French Riviera. Spain’s Balearic and Canary islands rose two places, to 4th out of top 20 yacht charter destinations.
Every year for our World’s Best Sailing Holiday Survey, CEOWORLD magazine asks readers to weigh in on their yacht charter experiences around the globe — to share their opinions on the top sailing destinations, best islands, yacht charter companies, and more.
The team at CEOWORLD magazine just released their annual survey, “World’s Best Catamaran Sailing Holiday Destinations, 2017,” rounding up the most popular destinations for bareboat and crewed catamaran charter. On average, survey participants took 2 sailing trips over the past 12 months. Magazine’s survey partner Aegean Catamarans Yachting reckon they’ve uncovered the ultimate sailing holiday match for each type of yacht charter enthusiasts – from thrill seekers to selfie addics.
As many as 92 percent of survey participants say CEOWORLD magazine helps them make sailing trip decisions after which 66 percent book through their yacht charter agent, 25 percent through an online charter agent, and 9 percent through a famous sailing website.
“Best in catamaran sailing highlights not the destinations sailing enthusiasts are headed to this year, but the destinations our team determined they should visit,” said Dr. Amarendra Bhushan, CEOWORLD magazine’s editorial director in a released statement. “Greek islands are firm favorite amongst yacht charter enthusiasts, Greece is the top choice for a guaranteed-sun and ultimate experience experience.”

The year 2017 World’s Best Sailing Holiday Survey, which collected data from 78,000 readers, saw an increase in yacht charter survey participants from China, India, Russia, Germany, and The UK. It also saw more younger voters who spotlighted several new sailing products. As many as 82 percent of the survey participants said they drew their primary image of yacht charter companies from the Internet, not from print or television.
