Top 25 most international institutions in the world in 2016; Qatar University tops

Qatar University was named the most international institution, according to a new list of list of the world’s most international universities in 2016 published by Times Higher Education. The latest list ranked University of Luxembourg in second place and University of Hong Kong in third place. Qatar University knocked 5-time leader Switzerland’s École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) down to fourth place.

The others in the top 10 were Switzerland’s École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) (fourth), University of Geneva (fifth), ETH Zurich — Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (seventh), University of St Gallen (eighth), National University of Singapore (ninth) and Imperial College London (10th).

The UK publication’s world’s most international universities ranking 2016 included 200 universities from 28 countries. It employed indicators such as the proportion of foreign staff, the number of foreign students, and the volume of research papers published with at least one co-author from another country.
