The top 28 most reliable automakers in the world: Survey rankings 2014

Lexus, Toyota’s luxury division, has once again topped the Consumer Reports’ annual reliability survey ranking.

The survey results specifically indicated that seven of the ten top ranked brands were all from Japan or South Korea, while Audi, Buick, and Porsche grabbed the remaining 3 positions.

Buick was the only American brand in the top 10 rankings and Audi was the highest scoring non-Japanese brand.

The top ten most reliable brands in order are Lexus, Toyota, Mazda, Honda, Audi, Buick, Subaru, Scion, Porsche, and Kia.

Of 28 brands in the study, it attempted to predict the reliability of 2015 models (cars & trucks) based on responses from the magazine’s subscribers, who own 1.1 million vehicles from current or prior model years.
