The list is based on employment potential by taking into account this year’s employment growth rate and HR professional responses.

It may come as a surprise overall employment remains same if not strong in all of these ten cities despite the brutal recession.

1. Des Moines, Iowa has Average Annual Job Growth odf 0.99%, median salary: $53,100 with college degrees: 33.8%

2. Raleigh, N.C. has Average Annual Job Growth odf 2%, median salary: $51,500 with college degrees: 42.2%

3. Madison, Wis. has Average Annual Job Growth odf 0.89%, median salary: $47,100 with college degrees: 41.2%

4. Salt Lake City, Utah has Average Annual Job Growth odf 1.32%, median salary: $51,200 with college degrees: 29.7%

5. Omaha, Neb. has Average Annual Job Growth odf 0.82%, median salary: $45,400 with college degrees: 31.7%

6. Portland, Maine has Average Annual Job Growth odf 0.82%, median salary: $45,400 with college degrees: 31.7%

7. Denver, Colo. has Average Annual Job Growth odf 1%, median salary: $51,000 with college degrees: 35.6%

8. Colorado Springs, Colo. has Average Annual Job Growth odf 0.67%, median salary: $49,300 with college degrees: 35.6%
