Brazil’s Embraer building business jet assembly facility at Melbourne, Florida for Phenom 100

Brazilian aircraft manufacturer, Empresa Brasileira de Aeronáutica, S. A. (Embraer) is building a 150,000-square foot business jet assembly facility at Melbourne International Airport in Florida. Florida based assembly facility will produce up to eight of Embraer’s popular executive jets known as the Phenom 100 each month for U.S. customers.

Embraer’s Phenom 100 is the most phenomenal light business jet on the market today.  Largest, fastest, and with the best range, while still the quietest and most efficient. This luxury jet offers seating for four adults, and features an enclosed lavatory for added privacy. With a cruising speed of 380 mph, this executive aircraft gets you where you need to be in a hurry. And with a range of over 1300 nm, you can travel directly from Los Angeles to Denver on a private charter jet or Chicago to New York .

The facility, which will include a customer showroom, a state-of-the-art aircraft paint shop and administrative offices, is expected to be completed by March, with the first aircraft ready for delivery before the end of 2011. Embraer also plans to hire about 200 employees to eventually manufacture its nine-passenger Phenom 300 jets in Melbourne, Florida.
