1) FASHION DESIGN POSTGRADUATE PROGRAM

About: IFM’s Fashion Design Postgraduate Program is one of the most reputable fashion courses in Europe today. Each year, it opens its doors to 30 international designers.
The program offers three majors: Garment, Accessory, Image.
The course lasts 16 months including a 6-month internship in a company. The classes are taught in English by top-level faculty, experienced designers and professional experts.

2) MANAGEMENT POSTGRADUATE PROGRAM IN FASHION, DESIGN & LUXURY

About: The program welcomes students who already hold a 4-year generalist or specialized degree, and helps them to pursue careers in the management of high creative value-added sectors: fashion, luxury, accessories (leather, footwear, jewelry, eyewear), perfumes & cosmetics, design and lifestyle.
Its aim is to:
– acquire high-level expertise in the management of fashion, design and luxury industries;
– master management skills and develop a culture of creation;
– gain conceptual knowledge and operational competencies;
– develop knowledge of a sector which influences most of today’s economy;
– develop a network and prepare for a solid career in line with the students’ passions.

3) MSc INTERNATIONAL LUXURY MANAGEMENT

About: The MSc Luxury is a 15-month graduate program delivered entirely in English. Its objective is to prepare a small group of select students to pursue their careers on an international level, within the worldwide headquarters, regional head offices, or national subsidiaries of French or other global luxury companies.

This program draws upon IFM’s signature strength in training young professionals to master the delicate balance between management & design in the creative industries.

It gives students:
– a strong foundation in management skills as applied specifically to the luxury sector: marketing, strategy and operations for international markets, with a particular emphasis on distribution and retail management,
– the keys to understand and leverage brand value: luxury branding, communication and digital strategies,
– a profound knowledge of creation: culture of fashion, design and luxury, understanding of the creative process, comprehension of the importance of quality and savoir-faire (know-how) in the luxury industry.
Students will also develop the skills to understand “the French touch” – historical and contemporary references – and will learn French in order to accelerate their immersion into the French culture and way of life, and to optimize networking with French students and alumni.

3) IFM ENTREPRENEURS (IFM START)

About: The IFM START program is aimed at all those who wish to start up in creative industries and innovative services linked to fashion, luxury, accessories, perfumes and cosmetics, to the world of design, lifestyle and gastronomy.

IFM START positions itself at the beginning of the entrepreneurial path and trains its participants in essential skills (business financing, management, understanding user experience, marketing, communication…) with an approach specific to these sectors, in parallel with individual guidance provided by mentors and experts.

To join IFM START, no need to have a definite project, since the essential criterion for recruitment to this program is the drive to start up. The ultimate aim of this program is to allow new start-ups to hatch via comprehensive coaching, from the basic idea to the achievement of the project.

4) GLOBAL FASHION MANAGEMENT EXECUTIVE MBA

About: The Global Fashion Management is a part-time course and the only Executive MBA in fashion and design management that allows participants to pursue their careers whilst studying.

The course is offered in partnership with the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and Hong Kong Polytechnic University in Hong Kong. With a truly global perspective, it prepares high-potential executives for top-level managerial responsibilities in the fashion and creative industries at large.

It provides young professionals with the sector’s key skills to enable them to plan and run strategies for existing brands or to set up their own business, while strengthening their knowledge of the codes of fashion, luxury and creation in an international context.

IFM offers postgraduate academic programs in fashion design, fashion management and fashion entrepreneurship, all at Master’s level and above, and an Executive MBA in Global Fashion Management in partnership with New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology and Hong Kong Polytechnic. It also offers numerous open-enrolment and custom-designed executive education programs in the field of fashion and luxury.

Our programs are highly selective, only 1 in 5 candidates are selected, and our students come from the best institutions worldwide. Overall our programs welcome 40% international students, from 33 different nationalities.

In 2016, IFM announced a strategic alliance with Ecole de la chambre syndicale de la couture parisienne, a fashion school created in 1927 which is specialized in pattern-making and styling, recognized as the leading French school in technical savoir-faire and creativity. This alliance will in the near future bring the school’s capacity to 700 students altogether.

IFM’s circle of partner companies includes 16 of the world’s most recognized brands such as Chanel, Hermès, Saint Laurent, Christian Dior Couture, Kenzo, Louis Vuitton or L’Oréal. Most of these companies are also part of IFM’s governing bodies, whether it be the Board of Directors, the Academic Affairs Council, or the Economic Affairs Council. Their sponsorship goes towards scholarships for the students which may cover up to 70% of tuition fees. In 2015 40% of our students benefited from such a scholarship.

IFM carries out research in the fields of fashion, design and more generally the creative industries, from a human and social sciences angle (philosophy, history, sociology, anthropology, ethnology, economics and management). Its research activities led by faculty and practitioners include the publication of an in-house academic review called ‘Mode de Recherche’ as well as a books which approach fashion from an economic, human sciences or literary angle.
