Stocks Warren Buffett and Bill Gates Both Own

Warren Buffett

Despite the strong relationship between Warren Buffett and Bill Gates, the portfolios of Berkshire Hathaway and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation show significant contrast. In fact, only three investments are shared between the two.

  1. Kraft Heinz
You can find Kraft Heinz (NASDAQ: KHC) as the first stock in the trust that has Bill Gates’ name attached to it, as well as in Berkshire Hathaway’s investment portfolio. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation holds around 2.62 million shares of Kraft Heinz, valued at almost $85.2 million, while Berkshire Hathaway holds around 325.6 million shares, valued at almost $10.6 billion.

  2. United Parcel Service (UPS)
Bill Gates and Warren Buffett both have holdings in United Parcel Service (NYSE: UPS), or “UPS” as it is more commonly referred to. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation owned 740,689 shares of UPS as of the end of June, and Berkshire Hathaway, owned by the Oracle of Omaha, had a 59,400-share stake.

  3. Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK.B)
The last and concluding stock both of the wealthiest people in the world have in their portfolios is, without doubt, Berkshire Hathaway — in particular, the Class B stocks (NYSE: BRK.B). During the first half of 2023, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation owned just over 25.1 million shares.
