Fidelity International CEO Anne Richards Resigns to Become Vice Chair

On Monday, Fidelity International disclosed that Anne Richards has resigned from her position as Chief Executive Officer after a five-year tenure and will assume the role of Vice Chair within the company. Fidelity announced that information regarding Richards’ successor will be disclosed at a later time.

Richards, boasting over three decades of experience in asset management, previously held leadership roles at M&G Investments before joining Fidelity as CEO in 2018, succeeding Brian Conroy. Prior to her role at Fidelity, she served as the chief investment officer at Aberdeen Asset Management.

Under Richards’ leadership, Fidelity witnessed substantial growth in managed assets, reaching a total of $714.3 billion. Transitioning into her new position as vice chair, Richards will contribute to the company’s external engagements and strategic partnerships, as per Fidelity’s official statement.

Abby Johnson, Chair of Fidelity International, commended Richards’ significant achievements during her five-year tenure as CEO, stating, “Over the last five years, Anne has accomplished a tremendous amount for our organization in service of our clients.”
