MySpace has announced that it will now sync its status updates with twitter. MySpace enable sync with Twitter by using open authentication technology called OAuth.

OAuth allows limited data to be shared between sites while protecting user’s account credentials. Updates originating from MySpace will be noted as such on Twitter and vice versa. Also, when user’s update post on Twitter, readers have a link back to MySpace to make commenting easy.

MySpace claims that the feature has been requested by its users for a while and decided to give them an easy and secure way of updating both accounts at the same time.

Will it work? Hard to tell.

Now, Any user can opt-in to sync their status so that any update created on MySpace will appear in your Twitter feed and any Twitter feed update will appear within your MySpace status & mood.

MySpace is actually the first large social network to enable full two-way synchronization for all of its users.

Twitter’s Facebook app allows users to share their tweets on the social network and a recently unveiled feature for Page administrators allows them to send updates to Twitter at the same time they post on Facebook, but a complete two-way solution isn’t available yet for all users.

This makes syncing easy and keeps your information confidential.

Syncing functionality includes:

· Status updates synced from MySpace to Twitter and vice versa

· Updates originating from MySpace will be noted as such on Twitter and vice versa

· Status syndication can be enabled for one-way or two-way

· When updates post to Twitter, readers have a link back to MySpace to make commenting easy

· Enables on-the-go status syncing (for Twitter and MySpace Mobile – WAP and apps)

· Open authentication technology (OAuth) protects account credentials and data shared between sites

MySpace is a place where people go to broadcast, discover, and express themselves.  We’ll be adding other networks soon and are excited to see how users will sync their favorite websites to more easily socialize with friends and followers.

Hoe to do it?

1) Go to the Sync tab within My Account.

2) Set up the desired services that you would like to sync with MySpace.

Right now you can sync with Twitter…more networks coming soon.

3) Click Confirm and you’re all set. (Allow)

Once you’ve synced your account, simply update your status on MySpace as you normally would (from your Home page, Status and Mood page, or mobile phone). When you update your status on MySpace, it will automatically sync with Twitter.

Global social media network Bebo, announced the launch of Bebo Open Mobile, a new global partnership program which will offer the mobile industry a suite of tools to provide their customers access to the Bebo social networking experience. Through the Bebo Open Mobile programme, Bebo will work with operators, handset manufacturers and mobile software developers to help them promote, distribute and monetize mobile social media.

Bebo Open Mobile partners will benefit from access to Bebo’s over 50 million strong user base and will collaborate with the social network on tailored content and social networking experiences.
