Poland is a parliamentary republic located in Central Eastern Europe. The country gained political independence after the fall of the communist regime in 1989. Since then the authorities have carried out a wide range of reforms aiming at transforming the economy into a free market system.
| Within the recent 20 years Poland has joined the NATO and the EU, managing to liberalize its domestic market and, by joining the international financial and economic organizations, to become a valuable trade partner for the world business.
