Reasons Why more and more companies turn to application development and maintenance (ADM) outsourcing?

Well, it looks like nearly one-out-of-two major enterprises intend to increase their application development and maintenance (ADM) outsourcing this year, according to a joint survey from KPMG and HfS Research, an outsourcing analyst.

“The more experience the buyer gets with outsourcing application development work — coupled with the increased knowledge their provider develops of its institutional processes — the greater the cost savings that can be achieved by moving more work out to the providers’ lower cost staff,” Phil Fersht, Founder and CEO at HfS Research.

A total of 399 companies participated in the survey, 88 percent — are satisfied with the cost reduction and standard delivery performance of their providers.

It is now well established that Application development and maintenance (ADM) outsourcing can significantly reduce costs and maximize performance for business-critical applications — accelerate deployments and free up new and existing employees to focus on strategic initiatives. The application management market is expected to grow from $51 billion in 2010 to approx $63 billion by 2014 at a rate of 5.7 percent. ADM market has become one of the key elements of the global business, the size of the global software product market is in the range of USD 300 – 320 billion.  Application development and maintenance (ADM) spend of companies in software product vertical is in the range of USD 45 – 48 billion.
