Biggest Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) Announcements Of All Time
So, 2013 E3 has arrived! Without any doubt, Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) is the mother of all important gaming event. Anyone who cares about video games — knows what i am talking about! Big players in the game industry descend on the E3 every year to show off the latest and greatest in gadgets and gaming.
Sony and Microsoft are both bracing for the launch of next-generation video game consoles (the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, respectively) this year at E3 2013.
In 2007 and 2008, it was known as the E3 Media and Business Summit. Just to be up-front, no, I don’t work for Sony or Microsoft, thanks for asking. Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) is commonly held in late May or early June of each year at the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) in Los Angeles.
Today i will do my best to share biggest E3 (video game trade fair presented by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) reveals of all time:
Super Mario 64 at E3 2006 – Being able to completely control Mario in a 3D environment was something people had never experienced before, and it signaled the beginning of a new generation of gaming. Super Mario 64 has sold over eleven million copies.
Project Natal at E3 2009 – Project Natal eventually became the mediocre Kinect, but its original reveal at E3 2009 blew everyone’s minds! Too bad it never managed to do all the things they wanted. “Project Natal” was named after the Brazilian city of Natal as a tribute to the country by Brazilian-born Microsoft director Alex Kipman, who incubated the project..
Zelda: Twilight Princess – As if the reveal of Zelda: Twilight Princess at E3 2004 wasn’t exciting enough, it was immediately followed by the emergence of Zelda creator Shigeru Miyamoto bearing the iconic shield and sword from the game! Initially, Twilight Princess was vulnerable to a buffer overflow attack, known as the Twilight hack.
Sony PlayStation – The very first E3 took place back in 1995, and the biggest news was the release of the Sony PlayStation. It crushed the previously announced Sega Saturn by entering the market for $100 less!
Super Smash Bros. Brawl – The crowd basically went completely wild during the E3 2006 reveal of Super Smash Bros. Brawl. As each new character flashed across the screen, the reactions got bigger and bigger.
Halo: Combat Evolved – One of the most defining game series in the past decade also had its roots in E3. Halo was originally revealed during a private showing at E3 1999. The first public trailer of Halo debuted at E3 2000 and stole the show.
Nintendo Wii – Nintendo promised a “revolution” when they were hyping their newest console in 2006. They didn’t disappoint when they revealed the Nintendo Wii.
