Good stuff. Microsoft today announced that its cloud storage and syncing service, SkyDrive, has reached a significant milestone and now host more than 1 billion documents. Company has also tweaked its online collaboration tool so that users can now view and edit their Office documents without a Microsoft account.
This is obviously a pretty powerful collaboration feature — proving that the service is constantly growing and catching up in popularity!!!
On the other hand main competitor like Dropbox, has more than 100,000,000 users and they save one billion files every 24 hours.
In a blog post, Sarah Filman, who’s the lead program manager for SkyDrive, “Recently, we reached a big milestone; our customers are now storing over a billion Office documents on SkyDrive! We’re really excited about the feedback we’ve seen around the new version of Office and the deep integration of SkyDrive,”
“One piece of feedback we’ve consistently heard, especially from students, is that our current SkyDrive edit links can be frustrating for recipients when they find that they need to sign in or sign up for a Microsoft account just to make a quick edit to the document,” Filman wrote.
