As the diplomacy intensifies to stop the cross-border attacks between Israel and groups in Gaza Strip Strip, U.S. President Barack Obama, has advised for Israel to demonstrate restraint, as it escalates its bombing campaign in Gaza.

Israel’s missile defense-system and its air attacks on Gaza have reduced Hamas’s arsenal of missiles but the threat remains, said Michael Oren, Israel’s ambassador to the U.S.
“We think we have had significant effect,” Mr. Oren said on Monday. “But our assumption is that they still have quite an arsenal. They are deeply dug in.”
Mr. Oren estimated that before the start of fighting, Hamas and Islamic Jihad had roughly 10,000 to 12,000 rockets. About 1,100 have been fired at Israel so far.
