Goshico, making great strides into the Polish fashion market
Goshico; A well-established Polish brand that combines traditional folk design with modern fashion trends to bring felt handbags with embroidery to the worldwide market.
They have found a niche product. Felt; a material never utilized before in fashion, has been used to create elegant bags, now found commonplace amongst celebrity circles. High end fashion created from a previously overlooked fabric, a fashion masterstroke that has received unreserved praise from all quarters.
Started in 2004 by two sisters, Malgo Kotlonek and Aga Kotlonek, the company has grown immeasurably since its modest beginnings, hand-making handbags after work and at weekends with limited resources to get the business started. They finally began their ascension into the Polish fashion market by exhibiting these unique handbags at fashion fairs across Poland, quickly establishing itself as a company recognized for well-made handbags that are always manufactured with local Polish resources and with Polish hands.
The company is ran by two sisters who are anything but similar; Malgo has the soul of an artist and although educated as a make-up/visual artist it’s hard to describe her interests in just a few words. An independent spirit, Malgo worked as make-up artist, stylist, hairdresser, designer and jeweler who from an early age has dedicated her life to embellish the world, and women in particular. She puts her talents to dailyuse, participating in niche projects as well as commercial ones: films, theatre, and campaigns, commercials and photoshoots. She is a conscious artist who sometimes loses track of the more down to earth things… and this is where Aga comes in.
Aga is a young, modern and energetic mom. She’s an accomplished Latin Dance instructor with a Masters in Economics, and developed a career in the world of business. In Goshico she combines her inner passion with practicality. Both sisters design Goshico products: while Malgo nourishes the artistic side of the design Aga ensures the quality and functionality to match. As a result, their synergy makes sure that all the fashionable works of art that reach your hands are beautiful, original, exclusive as well as practical.
Goshico was making great strides into the Polish fashion market, but growth and production was to accelerate from 2008, as a papercutrooster inspired by their father was to become an iconicsignature design that was to become symbolic for the company. The interest in this design was untold, and to date is still their most popular design product.
Continuing to develop new designs and new styles is vital for this company, be it for different seasons for the Rooster range, new collections in leather, or developing products for the modern man. The company has embraced the technological world and provides custom designs for laptop and mobile devices, combining practicality with elegance.
Goshico continues to grow, with multiple retailers in towns and cities across Poland; including Warsaw, Krakow, Poznan and Zakopane, and business links to countries such as the Netherlands, Belgium and England. The work by Malgo and Aga is tireless, and as the business continues to develop at home and abroad, there is no limit to how successful these two sisters can be.
